WERE WE CREATED WITHOUT A PURPOSE?

WERE WE CREATED WITHOUT A PURPOSE?

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH THE MOST GRACIOUS, THE MOST MERCIFUL

“Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?” 23: 115

In order to understand the context of this verse, we look at a few verses before this –  (23: 112-114)

He (Allah) will say: “What number of years did you stay on earth?”

They will say: “We stayed a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep account.”

He (Allah) will say: “You stayed not but a little, if you had only known!

SO FOOTBALL IS NOT COMING HOME!

In the World Cup itself – you see a perfect example on what this verse means.

Alhamdulillah – we see many good examples of Qatar and the people –IF THIS WAS TO BE HELD IN INDONESIA – WOULD INDONESIA PRODUCE THE SAME RESULT TO UPFFDF

  1. Da’wah amazing – da’wah tables, special muezzins chosen for mosques, etc
  2. Local’s welcoming attitude – free food, drinks, etc.
  3. No alcohol in the stadiums – people feel safe
  4. Preventions of showing signs of LGBT
  5. People took shahadah
  6. Cleaning stadiums by Moroccans

So you how much support Morocco – people from Indonesia would stay up to watch football, so much passion, love – but do you see these same passion for the Deen? How many would actually go to mosque for Fajr prayer?

I have been to Morocco, Algeria, Turkey, Malaysia, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, etc – all Muslim countries – I have seen the attendance of congregation for Fajr.

Hadith that prophet Muhammad (SallAahu alayhi wa sallam) wanted to burn houses so people would come for Fajr.

Someone from Oxford asking – is it necessary to go to mosque for Fajr?

We forget numerous of Allah’s Blessings and Favours:

وَآتاكُم مِن كُلِّ ما سَأَلتُموهُ ۚ وَإِن تَعُدّوا نِعمَتَ اللَّهِ لا تُحصوها ۗ إِنَّ الإِنسانَ لَظَلومٌ كَفّارٌ

And He gave you of all that you asked for, and if you count the Blessings of Allah, never will you be able to count them. Verily! Man is indeed an extreme wrong-doer, – a disbeliever (an extreme ingrate, denies Allah’s Blessings by disbelief, and by worshipping others besides Allah, and by disobeying Allah and His Prophet Muhammad  SallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).14: 34

We become ungrateful when Allah actually Allah Reminded us –

“If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allah), I will give you more (of My Blessings), but if you are thankless (i.e. disbelievers), verily! My Punishment is indeed severe.” 14: 7

So the Covid-19 pandemic – is it a punishment from Allah? Many lost their lives.

Allah also Reminded us in Surah 4 verse 147:

ما يَفعَلُ اللَّهُ بِعَذابِكُم إِن شَكَرتُم وَآمَنتُم ۚ وَكانَ اللَّهُ شاكِرًا عَليمًا

“Why should Allah punish you if you have thanked (Him) and have believed in Him. And Allah is Ever All-Appreciative (of good), All-Knowing.”

Of course not everyone who died from the pandemic is a sinner or being punished. In the Plague of Amwas happened about 6 years after death of our beloved prophet (SallAllahu alayhi wa sallam) – Umrah ibn  Khattab (RA) was the khalifah. Abu Ubaidah al Jarrah was leading the Muslim army – one of the first to embrace Islam, and was described as one of the 3 who has the best character, most modest, most prominent. When a dispute arose among the Christians on property matters prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu alayhi wa sallam) wanted to send the most trustworthy person to be the judge. He sent Abu ‘Ubaidah al Jarrah. He died in the plague.

Therefore all of us… before it is too late to realise – must truly understand our purpose of life – 51: 56 and 67: 2

And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). 51: 56

Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; 67: 2
