WHO DOES ALLAH NOT LOVE

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH THE MOST GRACIOUS, THE MOST MERCIFUL

INTRODUCTION

We strive in this world inshaAllah to gain Allah’s Love and Mercy. The love of Allaah is “the status for which the righteous compete and strive… It is the nourishment of hearts and souls… the delight of the eyes… It is the life of which one who is denied it is dead… the light which the one who loses it is in deep darkness… the healing of which the one who is denied is sick… the joy which the one who is deprived of it lives in distress and pain…

It is the spirit of faith and good deeds… by means of which one may draw closer to Allah… which, when it is absent, one is like a body in which there is no soul.”

However in many verses of the Qur’an Allah Informed us who He does NOT Love. W make du’a that we are not along these people. Who are these people?

  1. The disbelievers

“Say (O Muhammad  SallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam): “Obey Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad SallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).” But if they turn away, then Allah does not like the disbelievers.”3: 32

Allah Described His lack of Mercy to the disbelievers:

إِنَّ الَّذينَ كَفَروا سَواءٌ عَلَيهِم أَأَنذَرتَهُم أَم لَم تُنذِرهُم لا يُؤمِنونَ

خَتَمَ اللَّهُ عَلىٰ قُلوبِهِم وَعَلىٰ سَمعِهِم ۖ وَعَلىٰ أَبصارِهِم غِشاوَةٌ ۖ وَلَهُم عَذابٌ عَظيمٌ

“Verily, those who disbelieve, it is the same to them whether you (O Muhammad Peace be upon him ) warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe. Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allah’s Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment.” 2: 6-7

Allah will also Curse them:

إِنَّ الَّذينَ كَفَروا وَماتوا وَهُم كُفّارٌ أُولٰئِكَ عَلَيهِم لَعنَةُ اللَّهِ وَالمَلائِكَةِ وَالنّاسِ أَجمَعينَ

خالِدينَ فيها ۖ لا يُخَفَّفُ عَنهُمُ العَذابُ وَلا هُم يُنظَرونَ

“Verily, those who disbelieve, and die while they are disbelievers, it is they on whom is the Curse of Allah and of the angels and of mankind, combined. They will abide therein (under the curse in Hell), their punishment will neither be lightened, nor will they be reprieved.” 2: 161-162

  • The “mufsidoon” – those who do mischief and spread corruption

“…And Allah does not like the Mufsidun (mischief-makers)” 5: 64

In the Qur’an – Allah described the Ya’juj and ma’juj who were terrorising the people:

قالوا يا ذَا القَرنَينِ إِنَّ يَأجوجَ وَمَأجوجَ مُفسِدونَ فِي الأَرضِ فَهَل نَجعَلُ لَكَ خَرجًا عَلىٰ أَن تَجعَلَ بَينَنا وَبَينَهُم سَدًّا

“They said: “O Dhul-Qarnain! Verily! Ya’juj and Ma’juj (Gog and Magog) are doing great mischief in the land. Shall we then pay you a tribute in order that you might erect a barrier between us and them?” 18: 84

Now we see many groups, including of course the Zionists who were illegally occupying Palestine. May Allah Release Palestine from occupation. But of course – we need to change ourselves before Allah Help us:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يُغَيِّرُ ما بِقَومٍ حَتّىٰ يُغَيِّروا ما بِأَنفُسِهِم

“…Verily! Allah will not change the good condition of a people as long as they do not change their state of goodness themselves…” 13: 11

In the future we will have Dajjal who will come before the Day of Judgment.

  • The “Dholimoon” – oppressors and wrong doers

“…And Allah likes not the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers)” 3: 140

[Dhulm] has two root meaning, one of (which is darkness) which is the opposite of light and radiance; and the other is: putting a thing in other than its own place.”

–end of quote

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

“Beware of oppression, for oppression will be excessive darkness on the Day of Judgment.” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (2447) and Saheeh Muslim (6248, 6249) and the wordings are his]

The types of Dhulm:

With regards to the types of Dhulm, Shaikh Muhammad Ibn Saaleh al-`Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:

1. The most oppressive (form) of Dhulm, and it is Shirk with regards to Allaah.

2. The Dhulm done by a person against his own self, so that he does not give it its rights. For example: he fasts and does not break the fast; he stays awake and does not sleep (properly).

3. The Dhulm done by a person against someone else. For example: he transgresses against a person by hitting (him) or killing (him) or by taking away (his) wealth and whatever resembles that.

[al-Qawl al-Mufeed `alaa Kitaab al-Tawheed]

“Verily, Allaah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases” (4): 48, 116

  • the transgressors/aggressor

“…Truly, Allah likes not the transgressors.” 2: 190

ولا تعتدوا (wa-la ta’tadu) – from the verb اعتدى “to attack, to be aggressive; to transgress” – “and do not be aggressors.”
المعتدين (al-mu’tadin) – from the same verb – “the aggressors.”

So it was Ordered by Allah to attack enemies who attack you, NOT those who have peace treaty. Islam is all about justice and peace:

مَنّاعٍ لِلخَيرِ مُعتَدٍ أَثيمٍ

“Hinderer of the good, transgressor, sinful” 68: 12

  • The treacherous

“Certainly Allah likes not the treacherous.” 8: 58

Be honest and do not betray the trust of the people.

  • The exultant

“…Verily! Allah likes not those who are glad (with ungratefulness to Allah’s Favours).” 28: 76

Examples in the Qur’an – Qarun and the person who was given a garden, and water in Surah al Kahf

  • Treacherous sinner

“…indeed Allah does not like someone who is treacherous and sinful.” 4: 107

Story behind “Albaqarah” – on how the nephew killed the rich uncle in order to get his wealth then tried to deceive people by putting the body in front of someone’s house.

  • Proud and boastful

“…Verily, Allah does not like such as are proud and boastful;” 4: 36

Everything that we have or the ability to do everything comes from Allah. There is nothing for us to be proud about.

It was narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “No one who has an atom’s-weight of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise.” A man said, “O Messenger of Allah, what if a man likes his clothes and his shoes to look good?” He said, “Allah is Beautiful and loves beauty. Arrogance means rejecting the truth and looking down on people.”

Narrated by Muslim, 91.

It was narrated from ‘Amr ibn Shu’ayb via his father and grandfather that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “On the Day of Resurrection, the arrogant will be gathered like ants in the form of men. Humiliation will overwhelm them from all sides. They will be driven to a prison in Hell called Bawlas, with the hottest fire rising over them, and they will be given a drink of the juice of the inhabitants of Hell, which is teenat al-khabaal.”

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2492

  • Extravagant

“…certainly He (Allah) likes not Al-Musrifun (those who waste by extravagance).” 7: 31

Especially now we see so much poverty and suffering – yet in social media you see people eating extravagantly and wasting money.

“…But spend not wastefully (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift . [Tafsir. At-Tabari, Vol. 10, Page 158 (Verse 9: 60)]. Verily, spendthrifts are brothers of the Shayatin (devils), and the Shaitan (Devil – Satan) is ever ungrateful to his Lord.” 17: 26-27

  1. The arrogant

“…Indeed He does not like the arrogant”. 16: 23

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “No one who has the weight of a seed of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise.” A man said, “But a man likes to have nice clothes and nice shoes.” The Prophet said, “Verily, Allah is beautiful and He loves beauty. Arrogance is to disregard the truth and to look down upon people.”
